Scotia Gas Networks Ltd have generously donated 300 CO alarms to Fife Fire & Rescue Service and Fife Cares. These smoke alarms have been allocated to vulnerable groups and will be fitted for free during a free Home Fire Safety Check.
David Hadden, Commercial Manager from Scotia says “We welcome this partnership to engage with the vulnerable members of the community that can’t find a way through the system. We aim to make Gas safer in the community and this partnership is the way forward.”
Brian Delorey, Community Safety FFRS says “we would urge every householder to have a smoke alarm and where appropriate, a carbon monoxide detector for their own safety and peace of mind. Anyone can contact us on free phone 0808 100 3141 for advice on safety in their homes and we will install smoke detectors free of charge if necessary.
Fife Fire and Rescue Service offer a Free Home Fire Safety Check to all householders in Fife who request a visit. These visits include valuable advice on the prevention of fire, the detection of fire should it occur and the formulation of an escape plan for all occupants of the household. This coupled with the free supply and fitting of smoke detectors provides reassurance to all those visited that they themselves can dramatically improve safety of themselves and their family.
If you live in Fife and would like to take up the offer of a Free Home Safety Check please call Freephone 0808 100 3141
